To the editor:  Your editorial highlighting the lack of any specific plan to get Illinois out of debt by Pat Quinn or Bill Brady is the perfect opportunity for me to pitch my plan to Daily Chronicle readers.

I have a 20-page document online – “How We Can Solve the Budget Crisis in Illinois and Build a Full Employment Economy with Good Jobs for All Who Need Them” – that Illinois voters should turn to if they want a governor candidate with specifics. Here are a few of my ideas on how we can fiscally heal Illinois.

First, I’d fix the structural budget deficit by making our tax system progressive and eliminating spending that exists to reward political supporters of favored legislators. Second, we could put people to work by investing in renewable energy sources that can be produced in Illinois, such as solar, wind and bio-diesel energies. Third, we can raise revenue by imposing a financial transaction tax on speculative trading. These plans and more are spelled out in greater detail in the full text of my economic platform.

Illinois voters do not have to choose between the lesser of two evils. They have a third and better choice, and that choice is the Green Party.
